Doctor

Safi Chand, DVM

Dr. Chand has practiced emergency medicine and surgery for more than 10 years. He graduated from Canada and a few years later decided to further upgrade his skills in ER medicine and surgery in 2005. In 2006, he completed a one year internship in small animal medicine with a major in emergency medicine and surgery at Southern Massachussets Emergency and Referral in Massachussets. He had the privilege of working with largest Cardiology and internal medicine group( CVCA and AVIM) in Maryland as an ER clinician for 4 years. Dr. Chand wanted to be a veterinarian having grown up with German Shepherds. His areas of interest are internal medicine, cardiology, surgery, radiology, soft tissue and select orthopedic procedures. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, kids and their zoo comprising of 2 cats and fish. He also enjoys reading, traveling and horse back riding.

Amie Carrier, DVM

Originally from a small town outside Hartford, Connecticut, Dr. Carrier left New England and traveled south to Pennsylvania where she graduated with her B.S in Biology. She continued south and joined the Volunteers of Tennessee for Veterinary School. Amie then followed her passions in small animal internal medicine and surgery south to Alabama where she completed a rotating internship as an Auburn Tiger. Dr. Carrier then traveled to Maryland to a dual residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine and Emergency/Critical Care.

Amie’s specialties includes small animal internal medicine, anesthesiology, dermatology, and emergency/critical care. Amie has four beautiful children and two perfect fur-baby’s, Brooks, who is her most faithful and loving companion and Salty, her handsome English Cream Golden Retriever puppy.. Amie’s hobbies include reading, teaching, scrap-booking, cooking, rescuing, and watching sports.

Kelly Pruett  – Practice Manager

Kelly is a surgical technician who has taken the step up to practice manager. She has been working in the veterinary field since high school. Kelly lives in Howard county with her boyfriend, Kyle and their daughter, Skylar, who loves coming to work with her mom. She rescued the sweetest, fluffy Ragdoll a few years ago named Phoenix and is waiting for her next dog to find its way to the family at the perfect time. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends, watching Kyle race motocross, swimming with her daughter and cooking.
