Doctor

Safi Chand, DVM

Dr. Chand has practiced emergency medicine and surgery for more than 10 years. He graduated from Canada and a few years later decided to further upgrade his skills in ER medicine and surgery in 2005. In 2006, he completed a one year internship in small animal medicine with a major in emergency medicine and surgery at Southern Massachussets Emergency and Referral in Massachussets. He had the privilege of working with largest Cardiology and internal medicine group( CVCA and AVIM) in Maryland as an ER clinician for 4 years. Dr. Chand wanted to be a veterinarian having grown up with German Shepherds. His areas of interest are internal medicine, cardiology, surgery, radiology, soft tissue and select orthopedic procedures. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, kids and their zoo comprising of 2 cats and fish. He also enjoys reading, traveling and horse back riding.

Abid Farid, DVM

Dr. Abid Farid is new to our area, having just moved from Alberta, Canada. He has been practicing veterinary medicine for 7 years, with a focus on small animals. Dr. Farid gained valuable experience at various small animal clinics in Canada prior to his relocation. His areas of interest include: internal medicine, dermatology, wellness care, surgery and dentistry. He is always eager to challenge himself with continuing education and experiences. When not at the clinic, Dr. Farid spends time with his family and friends.

Amie Carrier, DVM

Originally from a small town outside Hartford, Connecticut, Dr. Carrier left New England and traveled south to Pennsylvania where she graduated with her B.S in Biology. She continued south and joined the Volunteers of Tennessee for Veterinary School. Amie then followed her passions in small animal internal medicine and surgery south to Alabama where she completed a rotating internship as an Auburn Tiger. Dr. Carrier then traveled to Maryland to a dual residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine and Emergency/Critical Care.

Amie’s specialties includes small animal internal medicine, anesthesiology, dermatology, and emergency/critical care. Amie has three human children with a fourth ready to make her debut any day. She has a perfect fur-baby, Brooks, who is her most faithful and loving companion. Amie’s hobbies include reading, teaching, scrap-booking, cooking, rescuing, and watching sports.

Staff

Karen White – Office Manager

Karen began her career at Goshen Animal Clinic when she moved to Montgomery County from Virginia Beach in March 2010. She has been working as an office manager in the veterinary field since 2005. Before that, she managed a floral shop in Florida for sixteen years. Currently she owns three boxers and a pit-bull mix.

Kourtney Crown – Technician/Receptionist

Kourtney has been working at the Clinic since April 1996 and possesses great aptitude in both technical and receptionist fields. She handles much of the necessary duties to keep the clinic functioning. She owns one frisky cat.

Alex Stillman – Veterinary Assistant

Alex began her career at the Clinic in 2002. She is extremely fond of animals. She has two dogs and one cat.

Jennifer Novak – Veterinary Assistant

She has been working as a Veterinary Assistant Since 2016. She desires to pursue a career as a Veterinarian, and we wish her success in her future endeavors.
